BREAKING NEWS REPORT FILED JULY 28. MONTROSE – Police are investigating a kidnapping attempt reported late last night. A 15-year-old girl said a male wearing blue jeans and cowboy boots grabbed her, and that she had to kick him in the groin to escape, Montrose Police Chief Tom Chinn said.

MONTROSE – Special education students at Northside Elementary School will ski for the first time ever Tuesday, but not without practice. Jeans Westerner’s bike and ski tech, Bruce Grigsby, visited Karie Hassell’s special education class Thursday to prepare the kids to ski the slopes of Telluride.

MONTROSE – Police are seeking a teenage girl who was reported as a runaway Nov. 4. Liliana Leyva, 15, is 5-feet, 1-inch tall, 110 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black sweater and white tennis shoes.
