Jonah Cooper, Pence Elementary School second grade student, got into 50s fashion mode Thursday, dressing in jeans, white T-shirt and leather jacket, slicked back his hair and donned sunglasses. On Monday, Sept. 21, North Polk staff members took part in the 2009 Lee National Denim Day. Staff members were allowed to wear jeans for a $5 donation to support breast cancer. The district raised $495 among the three buildings. This day also coincided with homecoming week, and Monday was “color day,” where teachers wore pink and showed extra support for the cause.
