It’s not everyday that students are encouraged to draw all over their clothes. On Thursday, through a travelling Francophone art exhibition, Jeanne-Lajoie Catholic high school students interested in the visual arts used their jeans as a canvas as part of a special art initiative.

Aeon Co., the nation’s largest retailer, said Wednesday it will start selling jeans Friday with a price tag of ¥880, below the ¥990 price offered by Fast Retailing Co.’s Uniqlo chain, which sells inexpensive casual wear.
