lalala asked:

Is it really worth spending $100 and over for designer jeans? Is there really a difference between designer jeans and jeans that are cheaper? I’ve noticed designer jeans have a more sophisticated wash, but honestly aren’t jeans just jeans?? or do designer jeans last longer? I’ve noticed that my jeans from gap and brands alike fade and lose their shape quickly. So I’m thinking of investing on designer jeans, but is it really worth it?

jeans are jeans the only difference is the name if you find a cheaper pair that fit then buy them just because they are more money doesn’t make them last longer or fit better!

I can’t say enough about Lucky Brand jeans. Yea, they are expensive, but the ONLY jeans that fit me perfectly. Just take care of them and they will last a long time. Believe it or not, I also get a ton of compliments on my jeans and people ask where I get them (at Buckle). I used to wear the cheap kind… not anymore. Nothing feels sexier than being in perfect fitting jeans!!!

no. its just the name. it doesnt really make you look all that much cooler either, if thats what you’re going for. it looks a little more stupid because you could definitely use that extra money for something else. all jeans are going to lose their color and shape easily. its jeans. its what they do.

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. It has nothing to do with how long they last or anything like that – it is entirely about style. If you don’t see or appreciate the difference in style, then don’t spend the money. Of course, every brand fits a little differently, so maybe the $20 WalMart brand fits you best, and $200 Varvatos fit someone else best, but that is just the luck of the draw and nothing to do with price.

the only difference is the cost.

Go to Marshall’s or TJ Maxx or perhaps Loehmann’s or Century 21.. they all have dirtttttt cheap designer jeans. I picked up a pair of $200 Seven For Mankind for only FIFTEEEN DOLLARS. Nothing is better than cheap and designer? :) ?

i’ve tried on both designer and regular jeans, and i’m actually a fan of regular jeans more. it depends it you’re tall or short. i’m short, so designer jeans are always too long for me. even the shorts are really long :/

designer jeans do last longer and don’t really stretch out as much, so if you find a pair that you really like, get them. good luck :)

Jeans are jeans, but I see you used the word “investing”….

I can’t see paying for designer jeans, especially when 1) you probly wouldn’t wear any jeans long enough to wear them out, 2) they’re probly not any different in quality or materials vs. AE or A&F, etc., and 3) any design that made them different would probly go out of style faster than basic jeans from regular stores.

I mean, it’s about the fit and the style, but if regular jeans fit just fine, why fall prey to vanity when you could do something else worthwhile with the cash, like treat your friends to dinner, or buy some nice accessories or something else you’ve wanted….
