You could try attaching a thin rubber material to it or sewing some in the top of your jeans. I know this sounds kinda weird but if you picture anything sliding off a rubber band, it doesn't work. You could try a hardware or automotive store for a material like this. I was thinking velcro strips but wonder if they might pull apart (they would be easy and you could try it... they stick so they are easy to attach.
