Are there designer jeans that are meant to be casual and designer jeans that are meant to be dressy?

Like Joe’s Jeans tend to fit more loosely from my experience, are they meant to be more casual where as there are nicer ones that are meant to go out in? If so, which are which?

I think more than fit determining day or evening i depend on the color or wash. I will wear dark or light during the day for casual, but during the evening i live off of dark wash denim- with no holes, the darker the better. They look chic and classy and i also own a dark pair of trouser jeans that look almost as dressy as trousers or dress pants. I love to pair my dark wash denim at night with heels, wedges or a cute stiletto boot. If the jean is dressy enough for heels it’s dressy enough for night. If it goes with tennis shoes it’s better worn with cute flats for day. Best of luck

Three factors contribute most:
1. Darker
2. Not loose or baggy.
3. Even wash.
Generally speaking, the more they look like trousers, the more dressy; but when you say dressy, that can also vary on the event/occasion.

Joe’s Jeans have many different body types, and there are some that are a looser casual fit, and some that are dressy jeans. This is the same basic concept with most brands.
For example, in Joe’s, The Muse, Lover & Honey are all cut with roomier legs & hips and will be a more casual jean typically. Some people like looser fitting jeans in general, whether they intend for them to be casual or dressy, so there are dressy & casual washes in these body types.
The Rocker, Socialite & especially the Starlet are all Joe’s body types that are more form fitted, and are designed as more of a going out jean. The rocker is well fitted & flared, the Starlet is more straight legged & very fitted, and the Socialite says it all in it’s name. It’s built right across the hip bone, normal bootcut, and in general has solid washes.
If you would like a more form fitting jean, I would recommend Diesel’s as they are low, fitted and barely stretch at all. Also, the darkest pairs of Red Engine are my favorite going out jean. They don’t stretch, the fit how they fit always, and the wash is perfect for dressy tops, or casual tops if need be. It’s a versatile jean.
