One shirt, just one shirt, basically a glorified t-shirt, costs $50 and a pair of blue jeans – yes just a pair of jeans – costs $100 at a fancy store in town. The glossy ad is tucked into the Saturday paper and one can imagine that at least a few moms will be handing over their credit card so that the gotta-have-it outfit is purchased for the teen who will wear it less than a half dozen times …
